Willow bark

(L. Salicis cortex)

Willow bark has the same properties as aspirin: anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-rheumatic, blood vessel sealant, anticoagulant, antiseptic and astringent. It is used to treat colds, flu, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, migraine, neuralgia, excessive sweating, catarrh of the mucous membranes within the gastrointestinal tract.
Compounds: saligenin, salicin, salikortina, populina, fragilina, grandydentatyna, salirepozyd, tannins, izosalipurpurozyd.
